The Form Designer controls how an entity's form looks: sections, tabs, field order, labels and visibility.
Where
Admin, Framework, then Form Designer (/admin/framework/forms). Pick an entity from the list to open /admin/framework/forms/<entity>.
Steps
- Choose the entity (use the search box to filter).
- In the Form tab, drag fields from the palette onto the canvas (native drag and drop). Add groups/sections and tabs, and edit properties in the side panel.
- Check the Grid tab for the list columns and Preview to see the real form.
- Optionally type "What changed" and click Save layout.
- Use the History tab to see saved versions.
Buttons
| Button | Effect |
|---|---|
| Save layout | Saves a new layout version (disabled while there are validation errors) |
| Discard | Reverts to the last saved layout |
| Reset to default | Removes the customization; the default layout is used |
Tips
- Layouts apply platform-wide for that entity name, not per organization.
- A field can only be made stricter here (required/read-only); it cannot be loosened below its definition.
- The header shows "Customized" with the version, or "Using the default layout".
